Pakistan is looking forward to work closely with the new US administratio
n and is eager to develop healthy bilateral relations between the two states.
Fatemi s
aid this in a meeting with the print and electronic media representatives at the
Pakistani embassy in Washington on Monday.
Fatemi further elaborated that he is currently visiting US to interact with the current US administratio
n and to meet with those are likely to join the new administration under President elect Donald
Trump
“Once President-elect Donald
Trump assumes his office,
Pakistan is looking forward to improve bilateral relations with US in the context of regional and international issues,” he said.
He s
aid that
Pakistan’s role can prove to be instrumental in promoting peace not only in Afghanistan but in the entire region.
Fatemi also highlighted that approximately 5000
Pakistani security officials have lost their lives while performing their duty in the war against terrorism and militancy. He further added that
Pakistan is
committed to promote peace in the regio
n and currently
Pakistan has deputed 200,000 troops along the Pak Afghan border.
Fatemi also highlighted that there is a widespread uprising in Indian Occupied Kashmir which India is trying to suppress on all forums. He also l
aid the importance of the need for a dialogue between
Pakista
n and India the issue of Kashmir.
