ISLAMABAD: Red Zone area of the federal capital has was sealed with containers earlier Today on Tuesday, in an attempt to ward off oncoming PTI protestors from completely shutting down the entire city.
Reports tell that the containers are placed in different areas of federal capital including Margala Road, Kashmir Highway and Nadra Chowk. These containers will work as a bar to stop the oncoming PTI supporters from crossing into the sensitive area and they won’t be able to shut it down.
Both the Aiwan-e-Sadr and Prime Minister’s Secretariat are located inside the federal capital’s red zone area.
The previous night, PTI workers led by Pervez Khattak had made their way to Burhan Interchange and had spent the night there. However, on Tuesday morning, police took the protesters by surprise with the use of tear gas shelling and forced them to retreat.
In a series of tweets, PTI chairman instructed KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to retreat with the caravan of PTI workers back to Swabi. Imran claimed that he had issued the instructions so that party workers could rest, regroup and then ‘get more reinforcements’.
